License to drive!!!

anyone remember that movie from the 80s/90s of that title with Corey Feldman & Corey Haim?? was one of my faves as a 12 year old! Anyway, might just have to use that as a title as I finally got my drivers license yesterday! So happy and relieved and proud that I did it! It's the best (already! lol)

I did a massive post last week sometime but lost the lot as for some reason my IE is crashing whenever I try and upload photos into my Typepad post... driving me mental. Just happened again just now (this is the 2nd time I've typed this post tonight... grrrr) so no photos tonight, have stacks of layouts to upload, but just wanted to share my news!

Back soon with photos (I hope!!!)

Oh and while I remember, I was tagged by the gorgeous Tracy Wyldman... I did do this tag last week but lost it and was too annoyed to re-type it (since I did it twice and wasted almost my whole daycare day on it!!!! - typepad, not the tag. lol)

ANYWAY HERE GOES...

6 fACTS ABOUT ME...

1. I am 31 years and and almost 10 months old... and have got my P's only (!!!!!) 15 years after I was first eligible to do so.

2. I have scrapped over 100 pages this year already... more on this topic in my next post.

3. I am the eldest of 3... I have 2 younger brothers... my youngest Wade and his GF Maggie are going to make me a first-time Aunty around Christmas time. can't wait!!!!!!

4. I have been on the DT at Little Scrapbook Shop for over 16 months now - what a hoot that has been! I have learnt so much and I love these girls so much. they are like family to me  :)

5. I don't care much for the heat... say what you say!!!! I know, I know what am I doing in Darwin??!!! Well, I spend lots and lots of time in air-con I gotta admit. I'd go a bit metal without - they don't call it 'Going Troppo' for nothing.

6. I hereby pledge to be a more dedicated blogger!!!!

ok now I tag... Nicole, Tamara, Lauren, and Narelle

See you soon!  :)

October 29, 2008

sheesh what a month!!!!!

I don't know where to begin, I 've had such a full on month. sorry to all those that have visited wondering where on earth I am and I know there's been a few of you, just checked my stats and there have been 200+ over the last little while  ;)

Have had a crazy, crazy month with sick kiddies, hubby and then of course me. I couldn't get sick while they all where of course so it came on just as they were all getting well again! arrgghhh. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel! Have been doing stacks of scrapping tho, we finally after years of talking about it, went and got a new computer/scrap desk and this VERY cool pigeon hole hutch for all my scrap goodies. it's freaking awesome! have no photos yet but promise I will share that next time!

ok here's some layouts I can share... have a massive pile of DT stuff still to upload so will share that when I'm done there. I think I may have missed some stuff somewhere along the line, we got a new puter a few weeks ago (yay!!) and have not fully sorted out all the crap on old one yet. (actually truth be told I have not even started but I'm blaming it on the fact that hubby has not set up external hard drive yet for me - I'm sure I could do it myself but you know, it's a good excuse for now! let's me procrastinate... ;)

Scones for aust day

and this one is a DT layout for LSBS using the divine Basic Grey Eva range. this is me at 16...

Sweet16

ok, gotta go pick leroy up from pre-school. promise to see you soon (and I will be back... typepad is not a free blog and if I don't post it's a darn waste of money, and with the exchange rate as it is at the moment, it's a lot!!)

thanks for visiting and commenting  :)

Pretty sure I have both your addy's girls from the RAK list so watch your postie soon! Prizes will be posted on Tuesday, Kayla I'm sure yours will take ages since it has to go from the top of Aus right to very bottom! lol

Congrats girls and thanks so much for taking part!

my special blog challenge

evening all! well the cybercrop is in full swing over at LSBS, pop in here to check it out if you haven't already! some huge announcements happening anytime now...

so onto my blog challenge that I've been talking about. as you know the CC this month is themed 'saying goodbye'. that can be a goodbye to anything, or a see ya later. I was inspired by the theme to create myself a journal to inspire me on the way to 'say goodbye to the kilos' as I go along my weight loss journey. it has been VERY motivational, especially to include photos of my progress, I just need to flick back a few pages to remind myself how much I want this. here is what I've done so far...

this is the charm that you get off Weight Watchers when you reach your goal of 10% loss of your starting weight... I attached it to the cover with some funky ribbons. the actual album is a Moleskine leather journal that I was given for my 30th from my dear friend Rachel in Sydney (miss you rach!). soooo glad to be finally putting it to good use.

Page_7_and_8

That 'under 90kg' page is blank as that is my next goal. I am setting each goal by pre-scrapping it in the journal... really does get me moving as I am itching to finish the page!! lol. I also think it is very important to reward yourself along the way... I have lay-byed a Pandora bracelet which I am currently paying off as I make a small goal, then each time I make a bigger one I am getting a new charm! I adore the concept of this, I just know it will be something that will work for me. I am also going to record anything that will kepp me going such as this... I have a walk in wardrobe in this house (bliss!!) and I have been hanging all the lovely smaller clothes I want to fit into right at the front so I have to look at the every day and move them aside to get stuff I fit into now. I LOVE that I have now (already) gone through 2 sections of it (I've got them organsied in size, the smallest stuff at the front, the bigger stuff at the back)

So my challenge to you is this... if you are yourself on a weight loss journey (or want to be on one!) create yourself a 'saying goodbye to the kilos' journal as well! Get creative and do it in whatever format you like! no restrictions! Entries will be open till Sat 20th Sept (midnight), just post a comment with a link to your creation. I will pick my fave and the winner will get a prize pack full of scrappy goodness plus a Weight Watchers pedometer which is worth about $35. I also have another scrap prize pack for all those that don't want to take part in the weight loss journey, same upload deadline, just post a link to your creation. (I want to see off the page for this one girls, and in the 'saying goodbye' theme) And I have one other condition; to enter I want you to visit the LSBS CC and complete at least one challenge, they are looking great! Any questions, just post a comment and I'll answer ASAP!

Happy Scrapping!

I've been scrapping heaps the last couple of weeks, have 6 or so layouts sitting here still to photograph. but here is some I can share!

We were challenged by Nic at LSBS to use some MME Daily Doses cards and come up with something unusual. This is what I did, I just love it if I do say so myself! lol. check out what the rest of the design team did here.

You simply MUST head over to Tarisota and check out this months simply divine freebie digi download. It has to most adorable little birdies. I'm in love... check it out here. Someone please tell me it's ok to go and buy this months collection. I drool and dream every month at Tarisota kits and the amazing things the DT create, I wish I had the $$$ to subscribe each month!

I'm feeling the urge to enter some scrapping challenges... been so long since I entered any. anyone wanna make a suggestion?

Last but not least Happy Fathers Day to my gorgeous hubby and to my Dad. We had a rather non-eventful day today, went driving this morning trying to find a car yard that was open (none were) and this arvo all the boys slept for hours and I scrapped. Got 3 12x12 layouts and one 6x12 layout done! LOVE that. We are currently looking around for a car for me to drive when I get my P's (going for the test in a few weeks) Thinking maybe a Ford Escape or perhaps Nissan X-trail. anyone own either of those? or a Honda CRV. any comments? we won't be buying new but perhaps 2004 model or around that.

hope you've all had a great weekend! promise to update again before the week is out (see I can do it often!! lol)

thanks for any comments you have  :)
